Questions to the Australian Coal Association

Clean (?) coal, climate change and unanswered questions on spending government funds on clean coal technology -

I wrote to the Australian Coal Association, and having received no response, I then wrote to a Contact Officer with the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (the CO2CRC) asking to see a draft project plan for cleaning up ONE power station. That was 6 months ago.

(The CO2CRC describes itself as "one of the world's leading collaborative research organisations")

"One of the barriers to commercial uptake of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology is the current high cost, partly due to the amount of extra energy needed, known as the energy penalty, when adding carbon capture to existing power stations."
